To paraphrase a quote from Woody Allen, “half of life is showing up”. After a career in education, I decided to get re-involved in my retirement when I realized that the LGBTQIA+ community was being targeted and villainized by some for political gain. The weaponization of faith, callousness and indifference of people in the “majority” was startling and in contrast to my values of justice, equality and an appreciation for all people, regardless of their differences. Involvement in PFLAG with other like-minded people allows me to put those values into action to help educate, advocate and support the LGBTQIA+ community.

From June 2024 to December 2024, PFLAG Waukesha conducted a public survey to assess perceptions of LGBTQIA+ issues in Waukesha and to identify potential steps for improvement. Please click on the link to access the results.
