When my children came out as LGBTQIA+ I felt very alone. Most of my friends were pretty conservative. They tried to be supportive but advised me to be the moral compass for my children. They were not people I could go to to talk about my children with joy.

In PFLAG, not only have I found friends who encourage me to unconditionally accept my children and they love hearing about them, I've learned that there are many more people than I realized in Waukesha who support LGBTQIA+ causes and are tired of seeing this population discriminated against. They now work alongside PFLAG Waukesha to try and make our community safe for all members of society, especially our most marginalized ones."
