EventsTo paraphrase a quote from Woody Allen, “half of life is showing up”. After a career in education, I decided to get re-involved in my retirement when I realized that the LGBTQIA+ community was being targeted and villainized by some for political gain. The weaponization of faith, callousness and indifference of people in the “majority” was startling and in contrast to my values of justice, equality and an appreciation for all people, regardless of their differences. Involvement in PFLAG with other like-minded people allows me to put those values into action to help educate, advocate and support the LGBTQIA+ community.
