Speaker Ben Greene

"My work extends to several different fields, but it all points back to the same thing. In everything I do. I'm just trying to maximize my good. Whoever you are, if you're reading this wondering if this means there could be love and hope for you too, the answer is yes. There is hope, there is opportunity, and it will get better. I fight every day to make sure that's true." Ben Greene

How to Have Religious Conversations with Speaker Dr. Robert N. Minor

The Fairness Project grew out of over ten years of workshops Dr. Minor led for religious, civic, business, educational and community groups regionally and nationwide. The mission of The Fairness Project is simple and multi-faceted: to promote fair and positive understanding of all human beings regardless of sexual orientation, sex, gender identity, nationality, race, ethnicity, age, or abilities, by educating and advocating for fundamental structural change and personal healing. We are convinced that all issues of fairness are related, that all oppressions are connected, and that all discrimination must end so that every human being can live and flourish as a full human being. Dr. Minor continues to be a popular teacher, speaker, workshop leader, and writer on issues of sexual orientation, gender, and active change.

Speaker Aiden Vasquez

Aiden Vasquez is a transgender man who lived 48 years with depression, self loathing, and suicidal tendencies. In 2016, he had top surgery and started his life on testosterone as an attempt to save his own life. This is a decision that he has never regretted. February 16, 2026 will be his 10 year anniversary on testosterone. In 2019 Aiden, backed by the ACLU, entered into a lawsuit against the State of Iowa, DHS, and Governor Kim Reynolds, fighting for the right to have gender affirming care and for the civil rights of all the other transgender Iowans. They won in 2023 after the Iowa Supreme Court agreed that lack of insurance funding was a violation of civil rights. Aiden owns and runs 4 Facebook groups. His passion is helping parents, family members, and friends, who support other transgender people. He mentors families and literally saves and changes lives. He advocates for the rights of others through various speaking engagements and live videos on Facebook, just to mention a few ways. In 2022, Aiden received the LGBTQ Legacy Leadership Award that was hosted and awarded by DSM Magazine in Des Moines, Iowa. An award given to specifically members of the LGBTQ community and their supporters. The award honors lifetime achievements, highlights leadership and community service, people who inspire others, and works towards making Iowa more inclusive and connected.
