Queer youth are being inundated with policies from their schools, which are eliminating safe spaces and resources that validate their identities. They’re facing threats to their fundamental right to affirming healthcare from politicians. Moreover, they’re subjected to harmful messages stemming from generational, religious, and peer influences, resulting in lasting harm to their self-esteem due to their LGBTQ+ identities. Courage MKE is not only a nonprofit, but a movement to support all Queer youth.
Courage MKE provides services, support and resources to LGBTQ+ youth across the state of Wisconsin. Our aim is to ensure that all LGBTQ+ youth understand they are valued and celebrated.

Our mission is to promote a sense of acceptance and belonging among all members of our community.
We want to lift the community up and make our town a better place in which to live. Join us on our mission to spread awareness and affirmation of the LGBTQ+ community in Watertown.
The Youth and Family Project, Inc., founded in 1975, is a private, non-profit agency with offices located in Washington and Waukesha Counties.
It is the mission of The Youth and Family Project to provide supportive services to youth and families, helping them achieve an increased sense of safety, hope, and belonging.
Staff and volunteers are dedicated to providing a variety of support, education and counseling services, aimed at reuniting the family divided by crisis and enriching family relationships. Programs and services offered by The Youth and Family Project, Inc. are confidential, free of charge, or available for a minimal fee.
LGBTQ+ Youth & Caregiver Support Groups
Youth and their families are offered safe and affirming support on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 5:00 – 6:30 PM. Groups are held at Moraine Park Technical College at 2151 N Main Street, West Bend, WI 53090. Youth and their families may attend as often as they like, drop-ins are welcome and pre-registration is not required.

After documenting an increase in the number of youth who feel safe disclosing LGBTQ+ identities to Youth and Family Project counseling personnel, we began creating specific resources and supports for LGBTQ+ youth and their families in Washington County. We have found that the need is great, and additional resources are rare. We continue to add more resources and programs for LGBTQ+ youth, families, and adults in Washington County to meet this need.

Since 1982 the philanthropy and connections that Cream City Foundation has fostered has been core to the non-profit lifeblood of our region. That work continues to this day. Cream City Foundation currently provides tangible support to the LGBTQ+ community of Southeastern Wisconsin through our fiscal sponsorship and donor advised fund programs.
Cream City Foundation mobilizes philanthropic resources and fosters strategic partnerships by harnessing the pride, passion, and commitment of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer+(LGBTQ+) people and their allies to advance human rights and respond to the human needs of LGBTQ+ people in Southeastern Wisconsin. The Foundation began in 1982 with only $500 in seed money and has granted more than $1.5 million to life-affirming, life-sustaining and life-celebrating programs for the LGBTQ+ communities of southeastern Wisconsin.
The Foundation’s work addresses the economic, health, safety and equity needs that prevent our LGBTQ+ communities from achieving full inclusion and acceptance. Our work is not single-issue-driven. Instead, it focuses on creating whole lives where the economic, health, safety and equity needs of our LGBTQ+ communities are met, and individuals can flourish.
Cream City Foundation has developed three elevated priorities that will guide our fundraising and grant-making efforts. These priorities guide our proactive convening work to shine a light on the most critical issues that need to be addressed in our communities. The three elevated priorities are Equity, Health and Prosperity.

Since 1994, the Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project has been documenting, preserving and celebrating the heritage of local gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people. Today, we are the state’s largest digital repository of LGBTQ media.
We are an independent, self-funded, volunteer-operated, not-for-profit organization. Our mission is to reconnect Wisconsin with its lost heritage and hidden history, through ongoing research, presentations, publications, walking tours, and online resources. We offer all of these services at no cost to the community.
